Advanced Readings in Innovation Management 2 (6 op)

Learning outcomes: Knowledge related: The student can deepen her/his understanding of a specific topic within the thematic field of innovation management. Skills related: The aim is to deepen students' academic skills of independent literature search, thesis statement and research question formulation as well as argumentative academic writing.
Content: Writing a literature based research essay which enhances the development of student's expertise in a relevant area of innovation management. The topic can be approached from management, marketing or organization theory perspective depending on the interest of the student. The student can also write a methodological paper connected to the thesis work of the student. The topic of each student must be discussed with the course instructor. Written instructions can be printed out through Moodle.
Learning Material: Will be defined individually.
Point in time: Spring term.
Teaching / Learning methods: Group Work 6 h, Independent Study 156 h. Details: The course will be arranged twice a year. The first course starts in the beginning of fall semester and the second course in the beginning of spring semesters. Thereafter, at least one compulsory seminar meeting.
Teaching Languages: English or in Finnish.
Conduct: Essay, Participation in Teaching
Assessment: 0 (Fail) - 5 (Excellent). Details: Individual writing assignment according to the instructions given by the course instructor. Introductory lecture and one compulsory seminar meeting. The essay can be written either in English or in Finnish.
Prerequisites: Bachelor studies in Business Management.
