| Learning outcomes: Knowledge related: The student can deepen her/his understanding of a specific topic within the thematic
field of innovation management.
Skills related: The aim is to deepen students' academic skills of independent literature search, thesis
statement and research question formulation as well as argumentative academic writing. |
| Content: Writing a literature based research essay which enhances the development of student's expertise in a
relevant area of innovation management. The topic can be approached from management, marketing or
organization theory perspective depending on the interest of the student. The student can also write a
methodological paper connected to the thesis work of the student. The topic of each student must be
discussed with the course instructor. Written instructions can be printed out through Moodle. |

| Teaching / Learning methods: Group Work 6 h, Independent Study 156 h. Details: The course will be arranged twice a year. The first course starts in the beginning of fall semester and the
second course in the beginning of spring semesters. Thereafter, at least one compulsory seminar
meeting. |

| Assessment: 0 (Fail) - 5 (Excellent). Details: Individual writing assignment according to the instructions given by the course instructor. Introductory
lecture and one compulsory seminar meeting. The essay can be written either in English or in Finnish. |
